We launched our second book, Spiritual Leadership in Action: The CEL Story, at the House of Lords. There were people there from Centre for Excellence in Leadership, who the book is based on and where Lynne Sedgmore was CEO at the time. In October 2007, CEL won the International Spirit at Work Award for addressing spirituality in the workplace, a previous UK winner being The Body Shop.
I had conversations with a wide range of people. They were genuinely surprised to learn that IISL has over ten years of evidence-based research for the benefits of spirituality in the workplace, using our Spiritual Leadership Model as a template. There was an acceptance of spirituality being far more inclusive than religion; spiritual leadership caught their interest as many expressed interest in leaning more.
Here are some photos:
Giving a brief talk about the book. Must have caught me telling one of my Texas jokes as the Baroness Wall appears amused.
Lynne Sedgmore who is featured in the book, keeping an eye on me as I sign enough books to satisfy a strong demand.
Here I am with Baroness Wall of New Barnet. Her husband had kindly taken me and my wife Brenda on a tour of The House of Lords earlier in the day.
